Linda Wade is an Audit Director with the Auditor of Public Accounts. Her position involves supervising and managing financial audits of state agencies and institutions. She is also the Team Director for a team of audit specialists dealing in budgeting and performance management issues. She started with the APA in 1984 after receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Virginia Tech. She subsequently earned her CPA certification in 1987 and her CGFM certification in 2005. She is currently earning a certificate in Public Administration through the University of Virginia.
After her children were born, Linda reduced her full time schedule to a part-time schedule, taking advantage of the APA’s flexible work schedule. She currently works 32 hours a week which allows her to spend more time with her family and pursuing her hobbies which include biking, gardening and cheering on the Hokies.
