Linda Wade is an Audit Director with the Auditor of Public Accounts. Her position involves supervising and managing financial audits of state agencies and institutions. She is also the Team Director for a team of audit specialists dealing inbudgeting and performance management issues. She started with the APA in 1984 after receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Virginia Tech. She subsequently earned her CPA certification in 1987 and her CGFM certification in 2005
Shortly after her son was born in 1991, Linda reduced her full time schedule to a part-time schedule, taking advantage of the APA’s flexible work schedule. She currently works 32 hours a week which allows her to spend more time with her children and to volunteer with school and community organizations. It also allows her more time to pursue her hobbies, which include biking, gardening and cheering on the Hokies.
