Berkeley is the Human Resources and Professional Development Manager with the Auditor of Public Accounts.  After graduating from Radford University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting, she began with the Office as an Auditor.

During her first three years, she audited colleges and agencies such as Virginia Commonwealth University, The Supreme Court of Virginia, and the Departments of Social Services and Criminal Justice Services.  Berkeley developed an expertise in fraud and participated in a number of these special projects. 

Since February 1997, she has been involved in all aspects of human resource management and she holds a Professional Human Resources (PHR) certification.  Berkeley’s responsibilities include:


 

Recruiting

  • Conducting campus and office interviews.

  • Representing the Office at college career fairs.

  • Speaking at Accounting Society and Beta Alpha Psi meetings.

  • Making presentations at local, state, and national conferences.  

Training

  • Developing and presenting an orientation program for new staff

  • Coordinating in-house and external training.

  • Monitoring continuing professional education hours for compliance.

Berkeley, a native Virginian, has lived in Richmond for the past eleven years.  Her hobbies include scrapbooking, cooking, traveling and spending time with her husband.
